With IE 8.0, Microsoft aims to achieve improvements on two fronts. One is to support Cascading Style Sheets 2.1 (CSS), the latest version of the standard in IE 8. CSS is a standard technology, the specification of which is overseen by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), for separating the appearance of a Web page from the content. It is the standard supported by all the major browsers.
